Ruffs are breeding in our meadows again!
For the second year in a row, we have confirmed hatchings of Ruffs. Again, two nests were found, one with 4 eggs, 3 young hatched, in the second nest 2 eggs – one young hatched. Attached you will find a video of a female ruff entering the nest
In total, we have located 156 nests of Charadriiformes on both monitored areas in the Gródecko-Michałowska Basin!
Such active protection of nesting habitats works, birds concentrate their breeding especially in the area fenced with anti-predator fencing.
As soon as we summarize all the data, we will describe in the next post how the breeding success looked like in these areas.
